Published 04/02/2010
(County Mayo, Ireland) - Ashford Castle, Ireland's dramatic and historic five-star castle hotel, is an ideal escape for families, offering a myriad of activities ranging from horseback riding and fly fishing to golf, clay shooting, river cruises and, perhaps most notably, learning how to fly hawks in Ireland's first school of falconry.
This summer, Ashford Castle brings in families to hone their falconry skills, while enjoying plenty of the property's other luxury amenities, with a special Summer Family Falconry Package which includes:
Two nights' Deluxe accommodation for the entire family, daily breakfast, dinner in the George V dining room for entire family; 90-minute family falconry lesson, and a falconry quiz for all children under 12 (given after falconry lesson)
For children under the age of 2: there’s an Ashford Castle teddy bear and baby pack (includes baby wash, moisturizing cream, talcum powder, baby wipes and sponge). For children, ages 2-11, there are bathrobes and slippers (blue for boys, pink for girls).
The hotel will have a special children's menu. Babysitting services and junior spa treatments available upon request.
Priced at €1,250 (approximately US$1,673), based on a family of four (two adults and two children under 12), the package is valid from May 1 to September 20, 2010.
