Best Places Portland is a much revered and in-depth look at Portland, Oregon. Whether it's munching on crepes in northwest Portland or an afternoon exploring the Garden of the Awakening Orchid, travelers will find expert opinions, insider information, and honest advice from the country's most respected regional travel series. The guide includes information on walking tours, fine and performing arts, shopping, and nightlife. Also included are reviews of new restaurants, hotels, brewpubs, and wine bars. The shopping chapter focuses on uniquely Portland boutiques and specialty stores. Lodging reviews have been streamlined, and restaurant reviews have been reevaluated as hot new establishments have taken the city by storm.
Kenny & Zuke’s is a Jewish-style delicatessen featuring many housemade ingredients, from pastrami and corned beef to pickles, bagels and rye bread. After starting a successful venture at the Hillsdale Farmer’s Market selling pastrami, Owners Nick and Ken began offering Saturday brunch at Ken’s restaurant, Ken’s Place. They renamed the venture Kenny & Zuke’s and now have two locations in Portland, including Kenny & Zuke’s Sandwichworks, which opened in 2009. Gourmet Magazine called them “one of the top 10 delis in the country” and The Oregonian named the Pastrami Burger one of the city’s “Best Bites.”
Kenny & Zuke’s is open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. For more information, visit www.kennyandzukes.com or call 503-222-3354. Locations include: 1038 SW Stark and 2376 NW Thurman St., Portland, Oregon.
