Second Oregon Berry Festival Comes to Fruition in Portland Next Week

Published 07/15/2012

(Portland, Oregon) – All that dreary spring rain may have paid off as now Oregonians can revel in the bounty of the season: the oh-so-coveted berries and sweet berry season. To help celebrate this, Portland will put on the second annual Oregon Berry Festival this month.

The Ecotrust event spaces in Portland, (NW 10th & Johnson) will host the Oregon Berry Festival, July 20 & 21, 2012. Visitors will have a chance to taste and buy some of the season’s best berries and also sample and purchase amazing products made with Oregon’s berry bounty. Admission is free for all events at the Ecotrust. Hours will be from noon to six on Friday, July 20th and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 21.

This will be a fun family event with children’s activities, live entertainment on the “Blues Berry” stage and a raffle to win a Trek Atwood bike loaded with berry goodies and coupons for berry treats. You'll be able to sample this year’s crop of Oregon berries and berry products. There will be ice creams, pies, cobblers, jams, strawberry shortcake plus the unexpected taste treat like Marionberry BBQ sauce, red raspberry spirits, cranberry chocolates, natural blueberry soda and much more.

Both days will feature a vendors market.

Performers include Karl Smiley, Mark Bentheimer, and Dave Orleans the Earthsinger. Cooking demonstrations will also take place on a variety of subjects, such as cooking with canned berries, immune-boosting foods, and a demo by writer Ashley Garland.
