Canadian Hotel Listed Among World's Best by Conde Nast

Published 12/23/2010

(Montreal, Quebec) - For the fifth time, Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion celebrates ranking among the world's best hotels by the 25,000 discerning Conde Nast Traveler magazine readers who evaluate hotel room quality, service, meals, location and design for its coveted Gold List.

"Reviewing the 2011 Gold List results, we are delighted and honoured by the magazine and its travelling audience for their appreciation of excellence in design," says Groupe Germain Co-President Christiane Germain. "Not only did we attain a staggering 94 per cent overall rating - one of the highest attained in our competitive set - but we attained a 100 per cent rating in the design category. This places us in an elite group of only five others in North America and less than 20 hotels worldwide."

The 60-room Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion design influence is Bauhaus, with metal and glass harmoniously combined with wood and stone. The new architectural fusion with an old building results in complex yet sophisticated atmosphere, a perfect backdrop for relaxation and comfort sought by frequent, loyal guests. Additional hotel attributes cited by the magazine include the quality of the continental breakfast served and the warm welcome by dedicated  reception staff, a trademark of Groupe Germain boutique-hotels across the country.

Groupe Germain has celebrated two boutique-hotel openings this year - Hôtel Le Germain Calgary and Hôtel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square - a tribute to the strength of the uniquely Canadian, family owned company, its leadership and traveler appeal.

"On the heels of our national expansion with two exciting hotel openings this year, this award compounds the success we have attained. We are very proud to once again garner this prestigious global recognition," says Germain who thanks the magazine, its readers, guests, staff and design partners for making this possible.

Hôtel Le Germain-Dominion is located at 126 rue Saint-Pierre in Québec City's Old Port. The building in which it is located was built at the start of the 20th century. To reserve, contact or call  418 692 2224 or toll free 1-888-833-5253.
