Central Oregon Releases 8-Part Adventure Travel Series

(Sunriver, Oregon) – Visit Central Oregon, the tourism entity for the region surrounding the Bend area, will soon have its name up in lights, Hollywood style. Just as central Oregon travel fun begins to kick back to life, it has debuted and sponsored a new video series hosted by National Geographic photographer Chad Copeland called Adventure Calls. The eight-part series spotlights central Oregon’s unique culinary culture, arts, and recreational opportunities in the region. The series premiered on April 22, and episodes are released every other Wednesday at noon. Episodes can now be viewed at https://adventurecalls.visitcentraloregon.com/ or www.youtube.com/user/VisitCentralOR (Image above courtesy Chad Copeland).

Over the course of the series, Copeland catches a classical concert at the top of Mt. Bachelor, goes whitewater rafting on the Deschutes River, samples regional cuisine and craft beer, and explores the region by bike, motorcycle, horseback, and more.

Visit Central Oregon covers the multivarious towns of Bend, Redmond, Sisters, La Pine, Prineville, Madras, Maupin, Warm Springs, and the resort community of Sunriver. It’s a section of Oregon filled with rugged outdoors activities, providing endless places for paddling, hiking, cycling, golfing, and climbing. But the new series also explores the region’s culinary, arts, and cultural attractions.

True to the title, Copeland chases different adventures and takes viewers on an exciting virtual vacation. One episode shows him jetting up a snowy mountain with a veteran Iditarod musher and her sled dogs, where he then takes on the yummy challenges of fine dining in the Deschutes National Forest. Adventure Calls is a series full of unique experiences that are entertaining, as he dives deep into local culture, history and varied means of repose, all in a sometimes bracing spirit of adventure.

At the moment, Oregonians are still being asked to cool their travel jets, but Visit Central Oregon said “the series provides entertainment and inspiration for future travel.”

Copeland has photographed for National Geographic, filmed portions of BBC’s Planet Earth and photographed the “People of Action” campaign for Microsoft’s Windows 10. Chad has also produced and directed feature content for the 2016 NBC Olympics, Netflix Original Series, Top Golf, ESPN, and TESLA.
